We are like birds. We are distracted by something shiny and we have short attention spans. When a male bird flies on the search for food, he sees a piece of foil on the ground. He has not seen one before. He lands by the foil and stares at it. The worm that is nearby escapes because the male bird has forgotten what it was doing. I'm not saying all men are like this but a good percentage are. Women are much better at multi-tasking and focusing. I have seen women shopping with 3 kids, getting what they need and still keeping an eye on the kids. They make it look easy. Men can do it but it takes a lot more work. I think this why men seem simple to women because in many ways we are. Men don't understand women because many of us don't really try to understand. We assume we can't for some reason. The best thing for men would be if we would not try to understand all women just the one we are with. Maybe it would be better for the women if they did the same. I do suspect women are already doing this but what do I know? I'm a guy...

Then again, I may very well be the last person to say that since I'm a hermit and a bookkeeper (If there is a more boring kind of person on the planet, point them out).

Tags, labels and pre-judgements Aha, my wife received something very similar to the text BZ posted (actually a portuguese version) and laughed a lot. And agreed with most of it About Darklight words, it is already a scientific fact ( psychology studies) that women are indeed excellent in multitasking because they cannot isolate facts easily, their brain works all at once. Maybe social evolution? I do not know. Men are proved to be able to isolate facts and work one thing at a time. That is the reason men can stop and relax even in the middle of a warzone, by disconnecting from the bigger picture. Does it mean we are worst than women? Or that women are better because they can multitask in an easier way? Not true as well. Both have advantages and disadvantages. Men can, amidst a huge problem, isolate and even relax and work a solution when a woman would probably be too worried to focus on a single point, making it easier to be in dispair and making women more susceptible to stress and depression. Women can see the big picture in an easier way on the other hand, making it possible to take estrategic decisions easier in some cases. That means if we work together, men and women can go much farther than if going alone. Ah, there may be exceptions, but overall the research found out how men and women differ and the difference ended being not good or bad, but just a difference that can even make a true companionship really beneficial to both.

Together, completing each other, filling the gaps the other have, helping and strenghtening. That is com panionship, and love as well. There might be exceptions on the psychological aspect, but the research does show why men and women say what they say about each other, and yet it is something that brings more reason to be together. That is also inspiring, even though the differences shown in each other brain performance does generate a big field for humor. But then that is why we love each other as well. We can perceive where we can complete each other, and make the whole so much better
